Drying Fruit In The Microwave

Friday, 4 February '11

Last day to Mora. It does not seem real, time has passed like a flash.
this morning we went to visit the area Haissa-hard. How many times we took that road to go to celebrate Mass or the Liturgy of the Word, or simply visit the community. In place of prayer, we waited for Michel, the catechist and the official translator of the celebrations. A simple man, well that has worked for years in the nursery created by the Cooperating French and then continued alone. How many trees planted and grown on this land. You can see the results because, for example throughout the course of the stream that passes the banks here has protected many eucalyptus trees in addition to reinforcing the embankments damage wood for the outbreak of the families. How FederBio (trees that make fertile soil) planted in the countryside we saw the fruit of a faithful and constant even in the face of many difficulties.
Michel is also the translator of the celebrations. He knows nine local languages. A real boon to the community that consists of many people from places and different ethnic groups. It was nice to hear him tell the community and explain the head of the work done by various Italian priests who are here in the past. From Haissà we then went to the village where he comes from Blablin Barthélemy, the bishop from which we will go tomorrow. We went to greet her dad is still alive and suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure, which forces it to remain in bed. According to the tradition of these places, we got a chicken to eat as his guests. On the way back we stopped occasionally to admire the beauty of the campaign worked well in these areas. It's very nice to see improvements in their technique. All small signs that bode well for the future.
For lunch we waited a few dishes prepared by local women's community.
In the afternoon we were visited by the Sisters of Makoulahé, Albertina Assunta and that brought us the mail and unfortunately for Italy began the sad ritual of greetings. The dinner, however, was marked by a good atmosphere mainly due to the good character of Sister Justine and Sister Berte. We gave them a piece of cloth in order to sew a new dress in memory of our passage. You had to see their joy. Sister Lucia told us that an African woman is one of the best gifts you can receive.
The first reading today's liturgy of welcome we had talked through it and how some had received angels. We are not angels, but certainly we were greeted by the angels. Too good that the heart is not large enough to contain the joy and gratitude to this land and these people who, in the past has filled our hearts, and still made us exult with joy. A special thanks to Lucy of whom certainly feel the lack. Dino said that these days will not be enough dinner or a trip to the mountains to say thanks, but it will take at least one dinner in each of our homes and even then can we say thank you to those days.
Tomorrow we leave for later in the morning to meet Yagoua Barthélemy and to deliver the pick-up. It will surely an important moment of our trip.
to bed now because tomorrow will be a day full of greetings and miles to go.
A hug and tomorrow
